The design of this is simple – too simple. Think the water coolers from your office – there is no valve on the water tank, it’s open, so you have to be quick to get it into position so you don’t spill it. This also means if you want to add water you either have to wait until the bottle is completely empty or try a quick pick up and over but you’re going to spill some there no matter how careful you are.

It would be very easy to make this better – even my home humidifiers have valves on the tanks – and a carrying handle – so I can pick up & remove the tanks filled with water without any spilling.

The filter? Useless. It’s a small rectangle pouch with charcoal inside that the water flows around just enough to fill the bowl with little black bits. I’ve been using this for a week and no matter how many times I rinse out the filter in the sink the water in the bowl soon gets more charcoal in it. A lot of charcoal. Not to mention dog hair and spit and everything else. So not only does the filter add black stuff to the water it doesn’t filter anything – the water gets dirty and stays dirty.

The tank is not very large. I’ve got three dig dogs – two days and it is empty. But I can’t leave it for two days because the water gets so dirty I’ve got to clean it out everyday.

Cleaning is a pain. It’s big and clunky and lots of little spaces. With the bowl being plastic you *must* clean this thoroughly as bacteria can grow in the pores of plastic bowls.

This is a good idea, but for the $$ it should be a lot better. It is much easier for me to just keep the big steel water bowls filled – plus they fit in my dishwasher so I can easily clean & disinfect them on a regular basis.

So – nice idea but doesn’t work as advertised. Returning mine.

Works as advertised. I think I expected something more substantial as far as the construction goes. It appears to be a cheap plastic item selling for a high price.

Great product for my dog and 2 cats. Plenty of water for all 3 of them and I only have to refill it 1 or 2 times a week.

Product was exactly as depicted. Works well for multi-pet homes. No negatives I have found as of yet.

Our 3 cats and German Sheperd/Labrador mix puppy love their fountain. The cats are always drinking from our faucet, or trying to drink when we get water from our dispenser, so this was a logical purchase. They were the first to drink from the fountain, and our puppy took a few hours to decide it was safe to drink from running water.

I notice they drink a lot more water now and we have to refill pretty often.

You do need to clean this at least once a week, especially with multiple pets, but it’s totally worth it.
